Today, millions of people are suffering the consequences of political conflicts, financial crises and ecological disasters, which they had no part in creating. Still, they have to play the role that they have been assigned.
Maggid is asking the question if that has a meaning to us. Do we have anything to do with wars, refugees, climate change, even if we haven't personally caused them and aren't directly suffering there worst consequences? And does that have any influence on who we are and what we do?
These questions are explored in a collection of original compositions, based on poetry in Yiddish, Russian and English.
The program is performed by Maggid duo, complemented by Svetlana Kundish on vocals and Georg Brinkmann on clarinet.
